About

Pictures of 2017 Sacramento WordCamp

WordCamp Sacramento is a volunteer-run conference centered around WordPress, the free and open-source software, powering approximately 30% of the internet and more than 75 million websites around the world, and this year we are embracing our community of WordCampers.

WordCamp Sacramento (#wcsac) believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, preferred operating system, programming language, or text editor. (Code of Conduct)

In its fourth year, WordCamp Sacramento 2018 will be held September 15-16, 2018 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Please enter the Convention Center through the 13th Street Entrance and take to elevator or stairs to the second-floor.  We are thrilled to include:

  • Two mixed tracks of sessions running concurrently throughout Saturday and Sunday.
  • A two-day Beginner Track, with one day focused on how to use WordPress and one day focused on what to do with your site once you have it live.
  • A Happiness Bar — our version of a help desk, open throughout the event so you can get help with your site and get your questions answered.
  • Lots of networking time to get to know other WordPressers and meet new people.
  • A delicious catered lunch on Saturday.
  • A networking reception Saturday evening to relax, unwind, celebrate WordPress, and continue conversations from the day.
  • An array of afternoon snacks on Sunday.

WordCamp is attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way. Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.

We invite you to come and welcome you to be a part of it.

Sponsors

Along with a large event and large venue, we have a large cost. WordCamp Sacramento is a volunteer-run, community event (no one gets paid in anyway to put on this event) that wouldn’t be possible without the support from generous sponsors. We’ve created sponsorship levels to fit every budget, so no matter what size budget you have, you can join in and show your support for WordCamp and our local Sacramento WordPress community.

Volunteers

Pictures of 2017 Sacramento WordCamp

Like all WordCamps, WordCamp Sacramento is planned, organized, and run by volunteers from our local WordPress community — and a critical part of making WordCamp Sacramento a success is our day of event volunteers — and we need your help! As a volunteer, you’ll help our event run smoothly, make sure our attendees have a great time, and bolster our local WordPress community. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet more people in the community, deepen relationships, and give back to the open source software we all use and love.

There are limited volunteer positions available, as a result, everyone who applies to volunteer may not receive a volunteer role.

Call for Volunteers will be coming soon!

Speakers

It’s our mission to have WordCamp Sacramento represent the passion, talent, and diversity of our community, and we want you to be a part of it! We looking for speakers to share their knowledge, skill, experience, and stories with our welcoming community at WordCamp Sacramento.

We do not require you to be famous, or expert, or a developer, or specifically credentialed, or anything like that. If you haven’t spoken at a conference before, don’t let that hold you back! All we ask is that you be able to present your chosen topic passionately and respectfully.

Call for Speakers is now Closed.
